In support of the IUPAC-NIST Chemical Identifier (INChI) Project led by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and sponsored by the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC), ACD/Labs has facilitated the integration of INChI software into their own chemical structure drawing program, ACD/ChemSketch. The INChI software is capable of producing unique alphanumeric string representations for chemical compounds that will facilitate the communication of molecular structures electronically. ACD/ChemSketch can be used as the structure input interface for INChI, through which drawn structures can be processed into INChI labels using an interactive button. Interested parties can download a technical note instructing how to install and integrate the freely-available INChI (Beta Version 1.1) into ACD/ChemSketch from http://www.acdlabs.com/download/technotes/80/draw_db/inchi.pdf.
