This business of doing individual shimming for each sample is a waste
of time. Use an capillary insert of acetone-d6 and lock on that (Hoye
method c). 9 times out of 10 the automated lock program will work

To make a capillary insert, use a long disposable Pasteur pipette.
Flame seal the end, three quarters fill the fine part with acetone-d6,
freeze in liquid nitrogen, attach to a vac pump and flame seal. Pasteur
pipettes are easier to fill and manipulate, than starting with a capillary

Typical application for us is a Diels-Alder reaction of furan with various
dienophiles in neat furan.
