Hello

Bell!

I have gathered some information how to prepare [Cu(CH3CN)4]X, X = ClO4,
BF4, and PF6:

1- Diffusion of diethyl ether or diisopropyl ether into acetonitrile
solution of CuX gives crystals of the above complex.

2- These crystals are sensitive to air and moisture, so dry and air-free
conditions.

3- For X = ClO4, you may also try this: dissolving Cu2O in CH3CN and 2 M
HClO4 at 100 C (according to Acta Cryst. B, 1975, 31, 314).

4- [Cu(CH3CN)4] PF6 is also available via Aldrich (Product. No. 34,627-6 in
5g and 25 g quantities) and Stream Chemicals (Product. No. 29-6700).

Hope this will be useful for you.

Yours,
Amir H. Mahmoudkhani
