JATOON - Java Tools for Neural Networks
JATOON (Java Tools for Neural Networks) was started in 2001 as a system of Java applets for training and applying neural networks. Three architectures have been implemented so far: Kohonen self-organizing maps, counterpropagation neural networks, and back-propagation neural networks.

JATOON was designed to run inside web browsers, to be simple, intuitive, and to provide graphical visualization of the training process and the results obtained.

In principle, JATOON could run on any platform on top of a Java virtual machine. Nowadays, security issues in web browsers make running JATOON applets in web browsers more complicated. Therefore, a Java application is available for self-organizing maps (see below).
